COOL School Technologies hosted a session entitled Playing With Toys: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving with Technology Tools at the Michigan AfterSchool Association Collaborative Summer Summit in Lansing, Michigan. Directors, teachers, and out-of-school time professionals learned how to use free web tools to engage students in their afterschool programs to support the academic core. We had a great time sharing resources and learning about the MOST standards that guide the work of these professionals. We hope to collaborate with them again!
COOL School Technologies has partnered with One Love Global to provide curriculum support for Michigan Common Core State Standards and Educational Technology in the design of its Peace and Prosperity Youth Movement Curriculum (PPYM). Through the PPYM curriculum, high school students identify individual goals and collaborate with one another to connect their individual goals and talents towards solving a community problem. The goal is to increase student community awareness and engagement towards positive social and community change.

Nearly 200 mayors, tribal leaders, and county executives across 43 states and the District of Columbia have accepted the MBK Community Challenge.
