The Founders of COOL School Technologies, L3C

Dr. Leah Robinson, Ph.D.

a native Detroiter, has counseled and taught at the university level for more than 15 years. Her expertise with at-risk students includes working with first year students, international students, and counseling in the Wayne State University School of Medicine. She holds a BA from the University of Michigan, a MA in Educational Psychology, an Ed.S. and a PhD in Instructional Technology from Wayne State. Her expertise is in human performance improvement, higher education, and technology integration. Dr. Robinson also leads work on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Ashara Shepard-Lance, Ed.S.

is an Educational Improvement Consultant and a former K-12 educator in the public schools. She holds a BA from the University of Michigan, a MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Detroit-Mercy, a M.Ed. in Education Administration from Lamar University, and an Ed.S. in Instructional Technology from Wayne State. Her expertise is in school improvement, digital equity, technology integration and trauma-informed practices. Ashara is also a Michigan Master Trainer through the Michigan ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Initiative.

Lin Zhang, Ph.D., is an experienced online instructor who served as a multimedia technologist and curriculum designer during the founding year of COOL School Technologies, L3C. In 2009 Lin decided to complete her doctoral studies at Boston University and is currently working as an Associate Professor of Education in Providence, RI.
